Terms of Service

Effective 9 September 2026Last updated 9 September 2026Version 1.0

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Matell Software Pty Ltd (ABN 25 474 835 475) (“We Are All Warriors”, “WAAW”, “we”, “us”), an Australian company, covering your use of the We Are All Warriors game at app.weareallwarriors.com, our mobile app, and this website (together, the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

The short version

  • This is an alpha. It is free, it will break sometimes, and campaign data may be reset between major builds.
  • You keep your stuff. Your characters, campaigns and writing stay yours. You give us only the licence we need to host and run the game for you.
  • The AI Dungeon Master writes fiction. Its narration is generated, can be wrong or strange, and is never advice.
  • Play fair. No harassment, no illegal content, no trying to break the Service or other people’s tables.
  • You must be 13 or older, with a parent or guardian’s permission if you’re under 18.

1. Alpha status

The Service is in alpha: an early, evolving pre-release provided so players can help us shape it. That means:

  • Features may change, break, or disappear without notice.
  • Downtime, bugs, lost rolls and interrupted sessions are expected.
  • We may reset campaign, character or session data between major builds. Where we plan to, we will give notice in the app and on our Discord first. Please don’t treat the Service as the only home for anything you can’t bear to lose.
  • We may add, change, limit or remove any part of the Service, or discontinue it entirely, at any time.

2. Who can play

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are between 13 and 18, you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. You must not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under the laws of your country, or if we have previously terminated your account.

By using the Service you confirm you meet these requirements and that everything you tell us about yourself is true.

3. Accounts and sign-in

  • We do not issue passwords. You sign in with an existing Google or Microsoft account. Keeping that account secure is your responsibility, and your use of it remains subject to that provider’s own terms.
  • You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at hello@weareallwarriors.com promptly if you think it has been compromised.
  • Alpha access may require an invite code. Invite codes are personal to you, aren’t transferable, and may be revoked or expire.
  • One account per person, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Don’t share, sell or rent your account.
  • What we collect at sign-in, and what we do with it, is set out in our Privacy Policy.

4. Acceptable use

We Are All Warriors is a shared table. When you use the Service, you agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, bully, stalk, defame or discriminate against anyone, in or out of character.
  • Post or generate content that is unlawful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that promotes terrorism, self-harm, or violence against real people or groups.
  • Infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights.
  • Upload real-world personal information about yourself or anyone else into game content, prompts or messages.
  • Attempt to bypass, disable or exploit the Service’s security, access controls, invite system, rate limits or content filters, including by prompt injection or jailbreak techniques aimed at the AI Dungeon Master.
  • Scrape, crawl, reverse-engineer, decompile or make derivative works of the Service, or access it through automated means other than interfaces we provide.
  • Use the Service to build, train, benchmark or fine-tune another AI model or competing service.
  • Resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service or any part of it without our written permission.
  • Interfere with other players’ sessions, or with the integrity or performance of the Service.

If you see something that breaks these rules, report it to hello@weareallwarriors.com. We may review reported content, and we may remove content or restrict accounts that breach these Terms — see section 10.

5. The AI Dungeon Master

The Service uses large language models to narrate your campaign. By playing, you understand and accept that:

  • Narration is machine-generated fiction. It may be inaccurate, inconsistent, repetitive, out of character, or occasionally unsettling. It is not reviewed by a human before you see it.
  • It is never advice. Nothing the Dungeon Master says is factual information or professional, medical, legal, financial or safety advice, and you must not rely on it as such.
  • Your prompts are sent to our AI provider. The text you type as your character, along with your game state, is sent to models hosted in our own Microsoft Azure AI Foundry resource so that narration can be generated. What is and isn’t sent is set out in section 3 of our Privacy Policy. Do not enter real-world personal information into the game.
  • Output isn’t unique to you. Another player giving a similar prompt may receive similar narration. To the extent we hold any rights in narration generated for your campaign, we grant them to you for your own use of the Service; we make no promise that AI output is protectable by copyright, or that it doesn’t resemble anyone else’s.
  • You’re responsible for what you ask for. Deliberately steering the Dungeon Master toward prohibited content breaches section 4.
  • We may moderate. Content filters run over inputs and outputs, and we may block, filter or log prompts and responses to keep the Service safe and working.
  • Availability isn’t guaranteed. AI features depend on third-party model services; they may be slow, rate-limited or unavailable, and we may change models at any time.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the characters, campaigns, backstories, notes, messages and other material you create in the Service (“Your Content”). We claim no ownership of it.

To run the Service for you, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, adapt (for formatting and technical purposes) and display Your Content, and to send the relevant parts of it to the AI provider described in section 5 so narration can be generated. This licence exists only so we can operate, secure and support the Service, and it ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies retained in backups until they are purged.

We will not sell Your Content, use it in advertising, or use it to train AI models — ours or anyone else’s.

You are responsible for Your Content, and you confirm you have the rights needed to post it. If you share Your Content with other players in a campaign, they can see it; we can’t control what they do with it afterwards.

If you send us feedback, bug reports or suggestions, we may use them freely to improve the Service, without obligation or payment to you.

7. Our intellectual property

The Service, and everything in it that isn’t Your Content — the software, the rules system, the worlds of Elarion, Ashes of the Old World and Celestis Imperium, the lore, artwork, logos and the “We Are All Warriors” name — belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law.

We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Service for your own non-commercial play, in line with these Terms. No other rights are granted, expressly or by implication.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on and links to services we don’t control — Google and Microsoft for sign-in, Microsoft Azure for hosting and AI, our email provider, and our community server on Discord. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, not ours, and we are not responsible for them. Our Discord server has its own community rules; we may moderate it separately from the Service.

9. Fees and future paid features

The Service is free during the alpha. We may introduce paid plans or optional paid features later. If we do, we will tell you clearly beforehand, and no charge will apply to you without your express agreement. These Terms will be updated to cover payment, refunds and cancellation at that point.

10. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service at any time, and can ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@weareallwarriors.com — see section 8 of our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access, remove content, or revoke an invite code if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, if it is necessary to protect other players or the Service, or if we are required to by law. Where it’s reasonable and lawful to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. We may also discontinue the Service, or any part of it, on reasonable notice.

Sections 6 (as to licences already granted), 7, 11, 12, 13 and 15 survive termination.

11. Disclaimers and your consumer rights

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, conditions and representations not expressly set out in these Terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that AI narration will be accurate or suitable for any purpose.

Australian consumers: nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability under the Australian Consumer Law can be limited, our liability is limited — at our option — to resupplying the services, or paying the cost of having them resupplied.

If you are a consumer elsewhere, you may have similar non-excludable rights under your local law; these Terms do not affect them.

12. Limitation of liability

Subject to section 11, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, opportunity, or loss or corruption of data or game content, however caused.
  • Our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service and these Terms is limited to AUD $100, or the total amount you have paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is greater.
  • We are not liable for the acts or content of other players, or for third-party services described in section 8.

These limits apply even if we have been advised of the possibility of the loss, and reflect the fact that the Service is provided free of charge during the alpha.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss, liability or reasonable cost (including legal costs) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, Your Content, or your infringement of anyone else’s rights. This does not apply to the extent the claim arises from our own breach, negligence or wrongdoing.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service develops. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, give notice in the app, on Discord, or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you don’t accept them, stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account.

15. General

  • Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and the courts able to hear appeals from them. If you are a consumer, this doesn’t deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the place where you live.
  • Resolving disputes. Before starting proceedings, please contact us at hello@weareallwarriors.com so we can try to resolve the issue directly. Nothing stops either of us from seeking urgent injunctive relief.
  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service, and replace any earlier understandings.
  • Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, it is read down or severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest stays in force.
  • No waiver. If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we don’t give it up.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, on notice to you.
  • Force majeure. Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
  • Language. These Terms are written in English, and the English version prevails over any translation.
